Reykjadalur Valley

Reykjadalur ("Steam Valley") is a stunning geothermal area near Hveragerði, just 40 minutes from Reykjavík. A 3 km hike (45–60 min) leads through mountains, waterfalls, and steaming geothermal landscapes to a warm river where visitors can bathe in naturally heated water.

Unlike traditional hot springs, this untouched and free-to-visit river offers an authentic Icelandic experience. With varying water temperatures, visitors can find the perfect spot to relax. Whether seeking adventure or tranquility, Reykjadalur is a must-visit for nature lovers.

Golden Circle

The Golden Circle is Iceland’s most famous sightseeing route, offering a perfect mix of stunning landscapes, geological wonders, and cultural history. This 300 km loop takes visitors from Reykjavík into the heart of Iceland’s countryside before returning to the capital. Kerið Volcanic Crater

Kerið is a stunning volcanic crater lake in South Iceland, about 40 minutes from Reykjavík. Formed over 3,000 years ago, it features striking blue-green water, red and black slopes, and a unique collapsed magma chamber shape.

The crater is 270 meters wide and 55 meters deep, with a shallow lake at the bottom. A short walk around the rim offers breathtaking views, while visitors can descend to the water’s edge. With its vibrant colors and accessibility, Kerið is a must-see destination for those fascinated by Iceland’s unique landscapes.

Friðheimar
Iceland´s Famous Tomato Greenhouse

Friðheimar is a family-owned greenhouse farm in Iceland’s Golden Circle, known for growing organic tomatoes year-round using geothermal energy. The farm offers a unique farm-to-table experience with a menu featuring tomato-based dishes, including famous tomato soup, drinks, and desserts, all served inside the greenhouse. Visitors can also learn about hydroponic farming and Icelandic sustainable agriculture practices.

In addition to tomatoes, Friðheimar is home to an Icelandic horse stable, where guests can get up close to the iconic horses and watch live demonstrations. Combining sustainability, local food, and Icelandic culture, Friðheimar is a must-see stop on the Golden Circle route.

Selfoss New Old Town Project

The New Old Town project in Selfoss is transforming the town center by reconstructing historic Icelandic buildings, blending tradition with modern life.

The first phase, completed in 2021, introduced cafés, restaurants, shops, and cultural spaces. The second phase (2024–2028) will add 40 more buildings, including hotels, residences, and retail spaces.

Beyond preserving architectural heritage, this project boosts the local economy, attracts visitors, and improves accessibility with a new bridge. Selfoss is becoming a vibrant hub where history and modern Icelandic life come together.
